Coloring - The New Adult Self-Therapy

While coloring books have been marketed as a children’s activity for decades, their popularity is starting to rapidly grow among adults. Stanley Fur, Atlanta resident, has seen these books piling up within his home, thanks to his daughters and their newfound excitement for the activity.

“The books my daughters bring home are definitely more detailed than typical kids’ coloring books,” says Stanley Fur. “Because the designs are so intricate, completing each picture takes more patience and is more of a challenge for adults.”

Many find coloring to be a form of self-therapy, as its relaxing effects can allow them to calm down and focus their minds on the single, simple task.

“My youngest daughter takes some time to herself each day and colors,” states Stanley Fur. “I’ve seen an overall difference in her positivity and mood every since she began.”

If you feel like you may want to start experimenting with the wonders that coloring provides, don’t hesitate, and go for it. Stanley Fur agrees that the hobby has helped relax his daughters during the most hectic of days in the busy city of Atlanta, so grab some markers, and get to it!
